Awards Ceremony


The Awards Ceremony for the 2020 Virginia QSO Party was held on-line on Saturday, 13 June 2020. 

The usual venue for the awards ceremony, the Manassas Hamfest, was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.  
The Awards Ceremony was supported by several members of the Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club.

Representatives of the Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club, the sponsor of the Virginia QSO party, and the sponsors of the QSO Party Plaques announced plaque awardees in 26 categories.
Plaques will be mailed or hand delivered to recipients.

Pictures were taken of attendees of the on-line awards ceremony, awardees when the plaques were delivered in-person, and some were emailed.


Gordon, NQ4K, the awards ceremony moderator, displays one of the plaques at the beginning of the announcement of the plaque awardees.

John Heartney, KG4NXT, is the sponsor for the Single Operator Digital Mode plaque.  The awardee is Rich Kennedy, K3VAT, in Frederick county.

On Saturday, we meet in Warrenton, VA to present plaques and certificates to members of the Fauquier Amateur Radio Club (FARA).  They are a significant presence in the Virginia QSO Party, with their club and members winning 12 plaques.
