2010 Sterlingfest

The Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club worked a special event station at the 2010 Sterlingfest in Sterling,VA on 9 October 2010.

Set-up starts at 0900. A core group arrives with the tent, tables and chairs, radio, and power (batteries and back-up generator).

Gordon, NQ4K, laid out all the promotional material. Notice the two practice CW keys on the promotional table: the one on the left is from Dick, W3YE, recently discovered in a box of old parts, and the one of the right from Forrest, N4UTY.

By 11:00, all is ready. Operators are standing by, promotional material is ready, and we are ready for Sterlingfest to start.
SPARC provided the booth staff and operators; other SPARC members stopped by.

A ham joined us to remember the good old RTTY days. This ham remembers the golden age of radios, and still has a few old TTY machines to prove it.

Finally, it is the end of the day. The station has been taken down and it is time for one last picture before Sterlingfest is a memory.
