Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club (SPARC)
February 2012 Technician License Class



The technician class fun to teach and enjoyed by all.

It started on Saturday, 11 Feb 12 at 0800 and was over at 1200 on Sunday, 12 Feb. The course consisted of 10 hour-long classes followed by several on-line practice examinations.

Thirteen students attended the class. All subsequently passed the technician class examination held on Sunday afternoon.

The instructors were: Paul, K4PDF; John,KK4AHY, Kevin, W4KLS; Mark, KI4OBT; Henry, K2BFY; and Jim, KF4PQL. The class coordinator was Gordon, NQ4K.

Paul, K4PDF, started the instruction on Saturday with classes on FCC rules and operating procedures.

John, KK4AHY, gave instruction on radio wave characteeristics..

Kevin, W4KLS, was the instructor for amateur radio practices, station setup, and station equipment.

Mark, KI4OBT, discussed electrical principles.

Henry, K2BFY, reviewed electrical components, antennas, feedlines, and AC power circuits.

Jim, KF4PQL, provided instruction on modulation modes.

Kevin, W4KLS, set up a station and demonstrated radio operations during a break.
