Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club (SPARC)
2011 Technician License Class



The technician class fun to teach and enjoyed by all.

It started on Saturday, 12 Feb 11 at 0800 and was over at 1000 on Sunday, 13 Feb. We then did a practice examination and enjoyed some conversation until the examination in the afternoon.

Five students attended the class.

The instructors were: Paul, K4PDF; Henry, K2BFY; Mark, KI4OBT, Jim, KF4PQL; Kevin, W4KLS; and Gordon, NQ4K.

The class members were: John Lagozzino, Chris Fischer, Paul Tabler, Richard Maccready, and John Cordone.

Paul, K4PDF, gave the first two lessons and got things off to a good start with lessons 1 and 2 on FCC rules and stations operating procedures.

Gordon, NQ4K (standing) gve the classes on radio waves characteristics, propagation modes, antennas, and feedlines.

Jim, KF4PQL, starting lesson 8 on modulation modes, satellite oepration and non-voice communications.

Henry, K2BFY, giving the lessons on electrical components, power cirsuits, antenna installation and RF hazards.
We also learned a new unit of measure. That is how well one "inducts" new people into ham radio ---  The Henry.     HaHa

Mark, KI4OBT, gave the lesson on electrical principles, math for electronics and ohm's law.
Unfortuately, Kevin, W4KLS, was taking the pictures and we forgot to get a picture of him.

Kevin gave the class on amateur radio practices and station setup.
