| The 2015 Field Day was held at Park View High School and was a very different event from that originally envisioned. Originally, the club planned on replicating our successful field days by setting up adjacent to the practice field, hoisting wire antennas to the top of the very tall light poles, setting up radios in canopies, and running off of the club generator. | Unfortunately, the weather forecast predicted severe winds and rain all weekend. Gordon, NQ4K, was thinking about how to break the news to the club that field day was cancelled. | Paul, K4PDF, came forward and identified a
building, the maintenance shed and team room building on
the west side of the high school football field as a
possible indoor field day location. We obtained
permission from the school athletic director and field day
was back on. This is that story of the field day in a new location. |

| Activities
started with a long discussion of where to put antennas.
Normally we only put up the ropes but several
members suggested we put up what antennas we had there in
case it was raining the next mornign when we normally put
them up. So we set up the wire antennas over the top of the building. The carolina windom, G5RV, and 40M loop were put up. The Big Vee was put up the following day. |
