The 146.85 2 meter repeater, 224.52 1.25 meter repeater,& 443.075 70 centimeter repeater, use the call sign WØSRC. (For a history on the club's call sign, click on the History link).
A description of the repeater
hardware is also available below.

WØSRC Repeaters

146.850 2 meter repeater
Call Sign:
WØSRC
Offset: -600 kHZ
CTCSS: 141.3
Autopatch:Yes-closed (member only)
Notes:The 2 meter repeater now goes by the call WØSRC.The 141.3 CTCSS tone is required for weak signal operators. The squelch has been tightened to eliminate "co-channel" inteference from another repeater on the same frequency, and paging transmitters located adjacent to the 146.85 repeater site. You can still work the repeater without the tone, but you will need to have sufficient power to unsquelch the reciever. So, if you have CTCSS, your best plan is to use it. This will also allow portables to also make that QSO!

The 146.85 also has installed the 141.3 CTCSS tone on the output, so that you may use your radio's tone squelch feature for receiving purposes. This will also eliminate DX and the intermod that is found in the St. Louis area. A change has also been made in the controller for the repeater in that the ARES function is no longer being used. The special courtesy tone function for the ARES nets will now be used for the CTCSS tone functions. Check with a control operator, or see the November 1999 newsletter for more details.

224.520 1.25 meter repeater
Call Sign:
WØSRC
Offset:-1.6 MHz
CTCSS: 141.3
Autopatch:no
Notes:The 220 recently changed it's call to that of the club call sign, WØSRC. On November 1st, 1997 several members installed the new 220 antenna that was purchased the previous year. The duplexer that was installed in early 1997 has resolved problems at the repeater site. The CTCSS tone of 141.3 has been added to the repeater controller, and may be required during times of heavy interference from the commercial repeaters located at the same building.

Offset:+5 MHZ
CTCSS: 141.3
Autopatch:n/a
Notes: The Club's WØSRC 70 centimeter repeater is now on the air and all amateur radio operators are welcome to "exercise" our new repeater! This repeater is located at the same site as the 146.85 2 meter repeater. This is a bare bones system, though future upgrades are planned.

In November 1999, the 440 repeater and 440 digipeater antennas were switch for testing purposes. Results of the switch and any improvements will be forth coming.

Repeater Hardware - Past & Present

Past

The repeater hardware used in the past on the 146.85 repeater began with a RCA "Carfone" and a home brew duplexer. During the 1970's, the hardware used consisted of, first, a General Electric "Progress Line" repeater in the mid 70's, then to a General Electric "Master Pro" with a Phelps Dodge duplexer in the late 70's.

Present

The SRC 146.85 and 224.52 repeaters are located in a penthouse of an office building located on Olive Road near Lindbergh, in Olivette, Missouri. The 146.85 repeater was moved to this site during the summer of 1981. The 224.52 repeater was installed at the site in November of 1993. Located on a high ridge that dominates the local geography, it is one of the hightest antenna locations for a repeater in the area. It shares the site with local radio and TV stations, remote broadcast receive antennas and several UHF repeaters.

The 146.85 repeater hardware consists of:

General Electric Master Pro series :EP38-A base station power supply4ER41-C receiver4ET58 90 watt transmitter
