A decision was made to purchase an Alinco DR435 for linking to Lane County. Albert Lawson was authorized to purchase. Albert Lawson gave a technical report saying that all nodes are working as of September 8, except the King Mtn. 440 system. It was discussed to fix this by making a temporary installation of a Alinco 430 to replace the Alinco ALR-72. Albert said he would organize a work part to make this switch. Albert Lawson advised that Soda Mountain lost its memory battery and was replaced by a factory battery. He presented al bill for $9.00, which included shipping. It was agreed that SOAPRA would reimburse Albert. Klamath Node lost its backup battery. Albert reported he replaced this battery at no cost to the club. Albert reported that he solved the Hamaker Node stack power problem by building and installing a power generator. Albert said he has a Scala-OG4 antenna for Hamaker Mountain. Albert gave it to Dick Suber to install. Our new link north to Eugene is working well, making it easier to get to Salem and Portland. The National Weather Service Bulletin Board System (NWSBBS) is now tied to the SOAPRA network and is open for use. Members were asked to follow the NWS guidelines in using and posting notices. The backup UPSs on Soda and Hamaker Mountains are doing fine. Albert presented a check for $239.96 for the King and JARS node stack, which did not work because of their wiring. The King and JARS repeaters drew too much power for their use. Albert has these UPSs. Meeting was adjourned Respectfully submitted, Warren Olney KB7EKF
