The #GP8 radio and TNC have been taken out. This 220MHz link will not be returning to service. Route north. At this time we have connectivity between the DC node and Newport. Discussion on Mahogany - Soda mountain link and what it would take to bring it up to 9600 operation. Would need to check with site manager for permission to do this. Would have to swap 220 MHz radio and antenna on both ends for 440 MHz and put 9600 baud modems into the TNC's. Will also need to coordinate a frequency separate from Hamaker-Soda-King so there is no interference with the backbone. Need to check with Albert, WB7AWL. APRS systems work on digipeating UI frames, no node software specific for this. For anyone interested, check into Kantronics advance UIDigi and UIFlood features, also Paccom. ===== Old Business: Discussion on emergency communications and need for simple operating procedure manuals.
