Here comes a greating from Sandviken, Scandinavia, Sweden. Sandviken is a small town with approximately 50.000 inhabitants and it`s located
200 km of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, near the east coast. The nearest larger town is Gävle (Gefle), which is located about 23 km east of Sandviken. |

Sandviken is an industrial community, established in 1862, when consul Fredrik Göran Göransson (S) and Bessemer
(DDR) got the idea to blow air through the melting steel in order to exclude most of the coal within the iron. This method is called "the Bessemer method" which is wellknown throughout the world.

That was a little glimpse of the history of Sandviken. Here are some biographical data: I was born in 1959. I started radiooperating in 1971 and I have been doing so thoughout the years. When I started one didn`t dare to mention
one´s name and adress on the radio, because it was prohibited. "Televerket", the governmental Thelephone and Radiocompany could take a bearing of you, when talking to friends abrouad and they might even take
your equipment away and that wasn`t too fun. When I startet, I spoke a lot whith the USA and the rest of the world, building up a network of contacts, but due to mentioned circumstances I haven´t got any proof of this,
that is a QSL-card. |

Now I´m busy rebuilding what I have lost. I´ve had about 50 – 60 radiosets during these years, many of then from the States as
well as from Europé. Five of these have been impounded by the notoroius "Televerket".Whith this story I would like to wish you luck in the future, hoping you´ll get many contacts around the world.
73 to you and your family! de SM3WIS Op: Lars "Pillas" Berg |
