ARPSC is the acronym for Amateur Radio Public Service Corps. We are a volunteer organization of amateur radio operators that serves St. Clair Co. (MI), in times of manmade and natural disasters to supplement emergency communications for St. Clair Co. and itsí municipalitiesí public service agencies. We are also dedicated to providing communications for public service events.

Membership is open to amateur radio operators in St. Clair Co. The St. Clair Co. ARPSC organization is sponsored and coordinated by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) nationally, and the Michigan Section of the ARRL in the state.

Among the roles that St. Clair ARPSC has responsibility for, is supplementing emergency communications for public service agencies throughout St. Clair Co., SKYWARN tornado spotting, hospital radio communications, and transmitting health and welfare relief disaster messages. All of these services are provided at no cost to the citizens' of St. Clair County. ARPSC is the umbrella organization in Michigan for ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Services), RACES (Radio Amateur Communication Emergency Services), and SKYWARN. ARES is a program sponsored and coordinated by the ARRL and RACES is sponsored by Michigan State Police (Emergency Management Homeland Division). We also support NTS (Natíl Traffic System) messaging via VHF & HF nets.

We would also be working alongside other VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster) groups, such as American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, and many other organizations.

Any licensed amateur radio operator is considered by the ARRL to be a part of ARES.
