DCS has finished upgrades to the station located in fire headquarters. See Attached Photos.

CERT Grant

The City of Palm Bay Office of Emergency Preparedness has received a Federal Grant to provide Community Emergency Response Team training. If you are interested in receiving this training please contact Ken Johnson or myself.

HAM Radio Station Installation at Harris

Harris Intersil Amateur Radio Club has received funding from Harris to install a ham station at Harris.

VOAD Conference

DCS / Fire Support Services represented the Palm Bay Fire Department at this years VOAD conference held on May 17, 2003.  Bob Harvey won a weather alert radio and Bonnie Harvey won a First Aid Kit congratulations to Bob and Bonnie.

Amateur Radio Deployment on Fire Apparatus

Twelve magnetic mount antennas have been purchased by the City of Palm Bay  Office of Emergency Preparedness for installation on Fire apparatus in the event of a disaster where 800 MHz communications is disrupted. Two of the four Palm Bay fire stations have fixed VHF antennas currently installed. A fixed VHF antenna has been purchased by the City of Palm Bay Office of Emergency Preparedness for installation on Fire Station 92.

ARLX004 National Hurricane Center's WX4NHC announces 2003 on-the-air test

National Hurricane Center's Amateur Radio station WX4NHC (formerly W4EHW) will conduct its 2003 hurricane season on-the-air station test Sunday, June 1, 1300-2200 UTC. The event will mark the first time the NHC uses its new WX4NHC call sign. Reference ARRL Bulletin ARLX004 for further information.
