About me....

    Hmm...        let  me see... 

    it's a dificult job for me to present myself  in few words but i will try ....

    My name is Mitja but friends and other HAM's call me MIKE (it' easy to say). I'm from  west part of Slovenia , I was born and live for over 27 years in town Sempeter. But now I live in small town named DRAGA (Volcja Draga- ww.loc.  JN65UV). I've build a new house there....actualy i'm  still building.It's a hard work ended,a lot of time ,money,renuncment, sucrifices & sweat  but the satisfaction that you did it ownself has no comparision               (yes i know ...for this reason my hobby momentaly suffer but not for long hihi..).

  My age...?? ...let me see...1,2,3,4...9,10 .... let say "enough" or a couple of decads will be just O.K. 

My HAM story....????

The story start's a lot  of years ago when I was a young boy (around age 8). My uncle was a truck driver and he take me arouund with him on trip's from time to time .Once my uncle  show me in  his truck a new CB station.A little small box full of butons ,hey some voices  come out.He explain me almost every thing.....but i was  too  young to understand. At the moment he say ;"Call the other other truckers !!!" (his frends).And give's  me the "mike" in  my hands.He help's me to make a  first contact.... (what a great sensation for a young boy ).The first spark was jump that day. A few months later he buy me a second hand CB tranciver and old GP antenna....what a joy... that day the dreams are come thrue... I still remember my first QSO's with my uncle,other truckers,other CB stations.... a few years late  ( at age 10 ) i buy with my saved money a first ALL mode CB station. First DX experience on 11m band  first DX QSO  and  ....the story continue..... .Uncle's friend Stojan ( now S57KZS) invite me in CB radio club  later i'll subscribe  in CS CLUB  too ,in both clubs i meet a lot of  new CB friends and I acumulate  more experience (over 280 dxcc o 11m band & lot of contests ).Some body say that CB is nothing in coparse to Hamradio but i say that is a great way to learn a lot  (especialy for young fellows) ,have fun and acumulate experience .Some kind of jump board for hamradio before getting the licence  

In 1995 Stojan  invite me to join him on exams to become a HAM operator....... and  join him with great entusiasm.

A new chapter in my HAM "carier".New band's ,new modes......it's very exiting to discover a RTTY,CW,PSK,SSTV,HELL,MT61,PACKET,DX-ing,etc..  Contesting ?!  ...hm.. this is another  long very long  story  ..hi..                           i love contesting ...all that planing ... preparaations....waiting for the great event......finaly  hapy in the "mud"....(happy as a child)  

I was for a couple of years in RADIO CLUB Nova Gorica - S53S  I was pround to be  a  active member there.With Kris S57IIO & other few guys we made  good results during most great contests specaly  in RTTY.....also in other modes.

At last i like conesting in group M/M or M/S for me is much funny  ...all that stuf ,equipment,all that people working as one,that energy...uffff.....             Also contesting with my friend Kris S57IIO is a great  pleasure and we alwas have fun...hi ( till "murpy" or YL come's in inspection  hi...) 

Now i'm a member of  Radio Club "BURJA"

The Radio Club "Burja" was established in in Sempeter June 2002 as a result of our same objectives  and big friendship among founders. It maintains young operators from Vipavska valley who want to compete and enlarge the knowledge. 

     So ....  with my friends
