 Group Name Text Size Help
Enter the Text Size for the Group Name.
Maximum Group Name Text size is 8.
Then Channel Name Text Size becomes (8 - Group Name Text Size) of the
transceiver display.

Range  : Off (0) to 8 (steps of 1)
Default: Off

 Number of Trunking Groups Help
The Number of Trunking Groups sets the number of groups(bank) that are
used in various trunking systems.

Range  : 1 to 16
Default: 1

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR],
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2], or by directly entering a value.

[32/128-Channel Models]
Note: When changing into the trunking group from the conventional
      group, the channel data will be cleared more than 17 channels
      of conventional group.

 Power On Tone Help
Selects whether or not a beep sounds when the transceiver is turned 
ON.

Yes    : Power on tone sounds
No     : No power on tone sounds
Default: Yes  

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Control Tone Help
Selects whether or not beeps sound when the following tones are 
required.

"Key Press Tone A":
 Beeps as a confirmation tone when a key is pressed, beeps when a 
 function is toggled when a key is pressed, and beeps when a function 
 is turned on.
"Key Press Tone B":
 Beeps as a confirmation tone when a key is pressed, beeps when a 
 function is toggled when a key is pressed, and beeps when a function
 is turned off.
 Beeps when Auto Dial Memory is being written in the Memory Store
 Mode.
"Key Press Tone C":
 Beeps when alignment data is being written in the Tuning Mode.
"Roll Over Tone":
 Beeps when minimum Channel(Group) are selected by key operations.

Yes    : Control tone sounds
No     : No control tone sounds
Default: Yes

 Warning Tone Help
Selects whether or not beeps sound when the following tones are 
required.

"Alert Tone":
 Beeps when the T.O.T. expires.  Beeps when the battery is low and 
 beeps when transmissions are inhibited due to PLL unlock.
"Busy Tone":
 Beeps when the transceiver is in the Busy Channel Lockout condition.
"Key Input Error Tone":
 Beeps when a key is pressed in error.
"Group Call Tone":
 Beeps when the transceiver is called a Group with proper Option 
 Signalling.
"Individual Call Tone":
 Beeps when the transceiver is called a Individual with proper Option 
 Signalling.
"Pre Alert Tone":
 Beeps when the Pre Alert function is active.

Yes    : Warning tone sounds
No     : No warning tone sounds
Default: Yes  

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR],

 Busy Channel Lockout Tone Help
A long beep tone sounds when the transmission is inhibited by the
"Busy Channel Lockout" function and release [PTT].
Then sounds a short beep tone two times when the transmission becomes
possible.

Yes    : Busy Channel Lockout Tone sounds
No     : No Busy Channel Lockout Tone sounds
Default: No

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR],
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Minimum Volume Help
This function is only for mobile transceivers.
Selects the minimum volume level that will be automatically set each 
time the transceiver is turned ON. 

Range  : Off(0) to 31 (steps of 1)
Default: 8(Mobile)

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+ [F2], or by directly entering a value.

In Mobile transceivers;
Note 1:  After switching the transceiver OFF then ON, the newly 
         selected volume level depends on the following relationships.
Note 2:  If the level previously selected using the VOL control is 
         higher than the programmed minimum level, the VOL control 
         level will be used.
Note 3:  If the level previously selected using the VOL control is 
         lower than the programmed minimum level, the minimum level 
         will be used.

 Tone Volume Help
This function is only for mobile transceivers.
Selects whether or not the beep tone volume changes according to 
the position of the VOL control.

Continuous: Depends on the VOL control
0 to 31   : Always use the selected value (steps of 1)
Default   : Continuous 

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+ [F2].

 Display Character Help
This function allows you to select either group number/channel number 
(Grp#/Ch#) or group name/channel name (Channel Name) for the 
transceiver display.

Grp#/Ch#    : Group and channel numbers appear on the transceiver 
              display.
Channel Name: Preprogrammed name in the "Gr and Ch Name" of the 
              Channel Data window appears on the transceiver display.
              The dot lights between Gr Name and Ch Name.
Default     : Channel Name

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

Note:  If a programmable switch (A,Monitor, etc.) is set to 
       "Display Character", you can change the display style of 
       individual groups with this switch.

 Off Hook Decode Help
This function is only for mobile transceivers.
The transceiver is still tone squelched even though the microphone is 
in the off hook condition.(valid for QT, DQT, 2-Tone and DTMF decode)

Enable : Decode signalling is active even the microphone is in the off 
         hook condition.
Disable: Decode signalling is disabled during off hook, squelch works 
         as carrier squelch.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Off Hook Horn Alert Help
This function is only for mobile transceivers.
The Horn Alert activates when the transceiver is called with option 
signalling even though the microphone is in the off hook condition.

Enable : Enable Horn Alert action is not controlled by microphone hook 
         status.
Disable: Disable Microphone must be on hook for Horn Alert action.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].


 Speaker Muting by Off Hook Help
This function is only for mobile transceivers(M/E/(N)E TYPE).
This function controls the inner speaker.

Enable : The inner speaker mutes when the microphone is in the off
         hook condition.
Disable: The inner speaker does not mute when the microphone is in 
         the off hook condition.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Data TX with QT/DQT
This feature is useful for Data Communication, etc.
This feature is available in TK-760G/K,TK-762G/K,TK-860G/K,TK-862G/K.

Select the radio's behavior when accessory PTT goes low.
Select "No" to avoid sounds data note on other parties radio for data
communication.

Yes    : Transmission with programmed QT/DQT when accessory PTT
         changes to low.
No     : Transmission without QT/DQT when accessory PTT changes to
         low.
Default: No

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Key Lock
Front Key : If Key Lock is ON, the keys are disabled except PTT,
            Foot Switch(Mobile),Side Keys(Portable),Volume control
            (Portable),volume UP, volume DOWN, POWER.

12/16 Key : If Key Lock is ON, the DTMF Keypad key 
            ([0] to [9], [A] to [D], [*] and [#]) are disabled.

Default: Front Key

[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Power On Text Help
This 8 alphanumeric message is displayed when switching on the radio.

Enter the required characters for the Power On Text.


 ACC Hook/DTC Help
This feature is only for mobile transceivers.
This feature is useful for Data Communication, etc.
Select the accessory hook terminal function Acc Hook or DTC
(Data Transmission Control).

ACC Hook : Works the same as the front panel microphone hook.
DTC      : Control terminal for data communication.
           When the control terminal goes Low (ground) the radio
           changes the channel to the maximum channel number of
           maximum group programmed for data communication.
           The radio returns to the status before change to the data
           channel when DTC goes High (open).
           Refer to the radio's service manual.
Default  : ACC Hook.

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].


 External PTT Help
This feature is only for mobile transceivers.
Select the external PTT function PTT or Data PTT.

PTT      : The external PTT works PTT.
Data PTT : The external PTT works as same as press the DTC and the PTT
           simultaneously.
Default  : PTT

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].


 Time Out Timer(TOT) Help
This selects the period of time users can continuously transmit.  
When the selected period elapses, the transceiver generates an "Alert 
tone" and stops transmitting.

Range  : Off(10min.(Portable)/20min.(Mobile)),
         15 to 300(Portable)/600(Mobile) sec. (15 sec. steps)
Default: 60 sec.

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+ [F2], or by directly entering a value.

Note:  If "Optional features/Warning Tone" is set to "No", the 
       transceiver will not generate an "Alert Tone".

 TOT Pre-Alert Help
This selects the time at which the transceiver generates a "Pre-Alert 
Tone" before TOT expires.
TOT will expire when the selected time passes after a "Pre-Alert 
Tone".

Range  : Off(0) to 10 sec. (1 sec. steps)
Default: Off

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2], or by directly entering a value.

 TOT Rekey Time Key Help
This selects the "penalty" time in which the transceiver cannot be 
re-keyed to transmit after the TOT setting is exceeded.

Range  : Off(0) to 60 sec. (1 sec. steps)
Default: Off

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2], or by directly entering a value.

 TOT Reset Time Help
TOT Reset Time selects the minimum wait time allowed between 
transmissions that will reset the TOT count.
When this is set, the TOT continues even after PTT is released unless 
the TOT Reset Timer has expired.

Range  : Off(0) to 15 sec. (1 sec. steps)
Default: Off

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2], or by directly entering a value.

 Clear to Transpond Help
The transceiver will wait when the channel is busy, then transponds 
when the channel becomes open. See the 2-Tone or DTMF menu for the 
Transpond feature.

Yes    : Enable the Clear to Transpond feature.
No     : Disable the Clear to Transpond feature.
Default: No

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Battery Save Help
This function is only for portable transceivers.
The Automatic battery save during standby operation, causes the 
receiver circuit to cycle ON & OFF to conserve battery life, except in 
the Scan mode.
The "ON" time is automatically selected by the current signal 
conditions.

On     : Enable the Battery Save function.
Off    : Disable the Battery Save function.
Default: On

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Signalling Help
Signalling "AND"/"OR" sets the audio unmute condition for any channel 
programmed for 2-Tone or DTMF decode (Option Signalling).

AND    : "AND" requires both the valid Option Signalling and the 
         programmed QT/DQT to be received for audio to unmute (and 
         initiate an Option Signalling decode alert).
OR     : "OR" requires either the valid Option Signalling or the 
         programmed QT/DQT to be received for audio to unmute (an 
         Option Signalling alert is only initiated if the proper 
         Option Signalling is decoded).
Default: OR

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].


 SQ Level Help
 Squelch Level is an analog reference level number that the radio's
CPU uses to set the internal squelch threshold.
 This should be adjusted only when performing alignment using proper
test equipment (see service manual for details).

Range  : 0(Open) to 9(Tight)
Default: 5

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2], or by directly entering a value.


 Radio Password Help
This code can be up to 6 digits from 0 to 9 and is used to unlock a
locked transceiver.

Enter the desired digits using the keyboard, then press [Enter].

How to unlock a locked transceiver

<Method 1: Using the keypad>
1. Enter the Radio Password from the numeric keys.
2. Press the [SCN](Mobile)/[Open Circle](Portable) key.

<Method 2 (Mobile) : Using the [CH UP/DOWN] key>
1. UP or DOWN the [CH UP/DOWN], and press the [SCN] key to select
   a number for a digit.
2. Repeat the previous procedure to complete entering the Radio
   Password.
3. Press the [SCN] key again.

<Method 2 (Portable) : Using the tuning knob>
1. Rotate the tuning control knob, and press the [Open Circle] key to
   select a number for a digit.
2. Repeat the previous procedure to complete entering the Radio
   Password.
3. Press the [Open Circle] key again.

If the entered numbers are correct, the radio will be switched to the
operation mode. If not, the transceiver will return to the locked
mode.

Note 1: Entering an incorrect code causes the transceiver the output
	an "Key Input Error Tone" and remains in "PASSWORD" state.
Note 2: The user must enter each digit within a 10 second period,
        otherwise the transceiver will clear the entered digits and
        "PASSWORD" will reappear.

 Data Password Help
Password protection prevents unauthorized reading of the transceiver
program data. You can enter a maximum of 6 digits in the range of 0
to 9.

Enter the required password with the keyboard, then press [Enter].

To read data from the password-protected transceiver, you must enter
the correct password.

Another Function (Clone Lock):
Password protection does not prevent writing data to a transceiver.
Cloning mode can be disabled by setting "Optional features/Mode/Clone"
to "Disable". Even if "Optional features/Mode/Clone" is set to 
"Enable",this password also disables Clone mode unless the proper
password is entered.

How to unlock a locked transceiver

<Method 1: Using the keypad>
1. Enter the Data Password from the numeric keys.
2. Press the [SCN](Mobile)/[Open Circle](Portable) key.

<Method 2 (Mobile) : Using the [CH UP/DOWN] key>
1. UP or DOWN the [CH UP/DOWN], and press the [SCN] key to select
   a number for a digit.
2. Repeat the previous procedure to complete entering the Data
   Password.
3. Press the [SCN] key again.

<Method 2 (Portable) : Using the tuning knob>
1. Rotate the tuning control knob, and press the [Open Circle] key to
   select a number for a digit.
2. Repeat the previous procedure to complete entering the Data
   Password.
3. Press the [Open Circle] key again.

If the entered numbers are correct, the radio will be switched to the
clone mode and "CLONE" will appear.  If not, the transceiver will
return to the locked mode.

Note: The user needs to enter each digit within a 10-second period,
      otherwise the transceiver will clear the entered digits and
      "CLN LOCK" will reappear.

 Key Detection Help
This function uses the internal COM1 serial port.
When the key of the front panel is pressed, the serial data of the key
outputs.

Normal : When the transceiver receives a key detection command, 
         the data of the key is output.
Auto   : When the key of the front panel is pressed, the data of the 
         key is output.
Disable: Disable the Key Detection function.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Modify Mode Help
This function uses the internal COM1 serial port.
While in this mode, the channel is operated by serial data.
When turning a channel selector, the channel does not change.

Enable : Enable the Modify Mode
Disable: Disable the Modify Mode
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 LED Control
This function decides the logic that LED lights.

1      : The LED lights red while transmitting or inner port LEDR is 
         Low.
         The LED lights green when receiving a station or inner port
         LEDG is Low.
2      : The LED lights red when inner port LEDR is Low.
         The LED lights green when inner port LEDG is Low.
Default: 1

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Panel Test Help
This mode is used to check the basic receive and transmit functions.
You can use the frequencies programmed at the factory.
You may change the programmed frequencies. 
(see Service Manual for details)

[32/128-Channel Models]
If you press [<](Portable)/ [D/A](Mobile), RF Power is toggled between 
Low Power ("Lo"(Portable)/ "AUX"(Mobile) appears) and High Power ("Lo"
(Portable)/ "AUX"(Mobile) disappears).

Enable : Enables the function to access this mode, press and hold 
         [<](Portable)/[SCN](Mobile), then switch the transceiver ON.
Disable: Disables the function.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Panel Tuning Help
While in this mode, you can tune the transceiver by operating it.
(see Service Manual for details)

Enable : Enables the function in Panel Test mode, press 
         [Open Circle](Portable)/[SCN](Mobile) to enter Panel Tuning
         mode.
Disable: Disables the function.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

Note:  "Panel Tuning" cannot be set unless "Panel Test" is set to 
       "Enable".

 Firmware Programming Help
This mode is used to revise the firmware written to the flash memory 
of the transceiver.
To change the main programs, use a personal computer with FPRO.EXE.
(see Service Manual for details)

Enable : Enables the function to access this mode, press and hold 
         [Side1]+[Side2](Portable)/[CH Up](Mobile), then switch the 
         transceiver ON.
Disable: Disables the function.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

Note:  To inhibit the user from accidentally changing the main 
       programs on the transceiver, select "Disable" before delivering 
       the transceiver to the user.

 Clone Help
Enable or Disable the Clone mode function.
We recommend set to disable after set-up to save the contents.
(see Service Manual for details)

Enable : Enables the function to access this mode, press and hold 
         [Side1]+[>](Portable)/[Group Down](Mobile), then switch the
         transceiver ON.
Disable: Disables the function.
Default: Disable

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

Note: If "Optional features/Data Password" is set, when you access
      clone mode, "CLN LOCK" is displayed even if "Clone" is set to 
      "Enable".
      To enter clone mode, you must enter the correct password.
      (see "Data Password Help" for details)

 Self Programming Help
This mode Enables or Disables the Self Programming mode function. 
We recommend set to disable after set-up to save the contents. 
(see Service Manual for details)

Enable : Enables the function to access this mode, press and hold 
         [Side1]+[Closed Circle](Portable)/[A](Mobile), then switch 
         the transceiver ON.
Disable: Disables the function.
Default: Disable (K,M,E,(N)E,(N)T)
         Enable  (C)

Select the desired value by pressing [SPACE BAR], [Shift]+[SPACE BAR], 
[F2], or [Shift]+[F2].

 Emergency Code Help
The radio will enter Emergency Mode by Foot switch.
See the radio's service manual for detail.
The radio repeats 25s transmission and 5s receiving without TX
indicator in the Emergency Mode.
Emergency Code is a series of DTMF code the radio transmits at the
beginning of transmission as "SOS" in the Emergency Mode.

Range  : Blank, 1 - 10 Digits (0-9, A-D, *,#)
Default: Blank

 Emergency Acknowledge Code Help
Reception of this code lights the dot at the right edge of the radio
LCD. The operator will know that the base understands the Emergency
situation.
See Emergency Acknowledge Recognition.

Range  : Blank, 1 - 10 Digits (0-9, A-D, *, #)
Default: Blank

 Emergency Reset Code Help
Reception of this code cancels Emergency mode and reverts to normal
mode.
See the radio's service manual for detail.

Range  : Blank, 1 - 10 Digits (0-9, A-D, *, #)
Default: Blank

 Emergency Mode Recognition Help
[128-Channel Models]
Three dots at the left of the radio LCD will lights to recognize
to operator that the radio is in the Emergency mode.

Enable : The above mentioned dot lights in the Emergency mode.
Disable: The above mentioned dot does not light.
Default: Enable

[8-Channel Models]
If the radio becomes the Emergency mode when the dot disappears at the
current radio LCD, the dot will light.
If the radio becomes the Emergency mode when the dot appears at the
current radio LCD, the dot will turn off.
The operator will know that the radio is in the Emergency mode.

Enable : Enable the Emergency Mode Recognition function
Disable: Disable the Emergency Mode Recognition function
Default: Enable

 Emergency Acknowledge Recognition Help
[128-Channel Models]
