                  NOTES ON TK715 & TK255 PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE
                             October 1998

=================================
PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
=================================

Insert software disk into drive A (or whatever drive you prefer) and type:

                        A:\> install

The install procedure assumes you wish to install to your C drive. If you
prefer to install to different drive, type the drive letter and a colon
after the install command. i.e., to copy files to the E Drive:

                        A:\> install e:

The install procedure will create the directory TK-715 on your C drive and
and copy the programming, documentation, and the following configuration
files to this directory:

                        config.ken
                        config.en1
                        config.en2
                        config.sp1
                        config.sp2

Default Display Settings
------------------------
The default configuration is ENGLISH, COM 1 PORT which is contained in the
config.ken and config.en1 files, above. You can overwrite this configuration
to com 1 or com 2 and in either english or spanish. To do so, simply copy
the appropiate configuration over the config.ken. Example, to install the
software in SPANISH, COM 2 PORT, type:

              C:\TK715> copy config.sp2 config.ken

===================================
HOW TO VIEW THE DOCUMENTATION FILES
===================================

Two documentations files, shown below, are also copied to the TK-715
directory within the install procedure. To view these files, open them
with Microsoft Word (or other compatible word processor).

                        KWAUXTXT.DOC
                        KENWOOD.DOC

====================
TO BEGIN PROGRAMMING
====================

Start programming software by typing KenMob, at the dos prompt. i.e.

                C:\TK715> KenMob

Network Files - (RN_???.net)
-------------
The network files are RN_???.net and are located within the TK715
directory. The ??? indicates different sites the unit will 'home' in
on. By selecting the apropiate file, the unit will first attempt to
sign on to that site; otherwise, it will sign on to the next available
site. It is highly recommended to choose a site to cover the area where
the customer will primarily be doing its communications through.

It is important that the best site is selected for customers who have
group calling ability. Group call is only available via one site.

Idents
------
Individual and group idents are provided to you by regioNet. You must
submit a "regioNet/Kenwood Programming Worksheet" provided in your
dealer manual. (For new customers, a "Subscriber Agreement" must be
submitted as well.

For further programming instructions, please refer to the programming
documentation found in your dealer manual.
