Hello!

My name is Dennis, I'm 30 and I live in St.Petersburg - the former capital of Russia.
I've been active in Ham Radio since 1986 when I started as an SWL with the call UA1-136-311 at the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant's Radioclub station UZ1CXF. My first HAM license was obtained in early 1999, however, by that time I was quite an experienced operator because I had made thousands and thousands of contacts from different clubstations. I got the callsign RA1AKE and used it until in June 2000 I passed the exam for the First Class license and was issued my present callsign RZ1AK.

In June 1999 I was asked by Alex, RV1AC, to join a DXpedition to one of the deserted islands in the White Sea. The expedition was perfect and I liked it so much that I became completely hooked with island DXpeditioning. So since then I've launched several island expeditions with the best friend of mine Vlad, UA1CIO, and have joined every expedition that I've been invited to join ... and that I could afford. I've been a member of the Diploma Interests Group (#4362) since 1989 and a member of the Russian Robinson Club (#233) since 1999.
My other hobbies are photography and "Russian" billiard.

In October 2001 I moved to a new appartment and haven't installed any antenna here yet. Hopefully I'll put up some antenna next spring.
