Announcing RVARC Silent Auction! As many of you might remember, Jack Cavanagh (KB4XF) earlier this year provided much of his amateur radio equipment to be auctioned off with all proceeds donated to the club. Scott Larimer (KN4RPA) received the material and has been acting as it's custodian since, until at which time we could plan a way to conduct the auction and distribute the material. We have elected to begin this auction now over the period leadi-ng up to the Jim Steele Memorial Tailgate Event which will be used as the method for distribution. Please proceed to the following site for viewing of all the items up for bid: http://larimersa.com/ Here you will find a gallery of pictures for the available items as well as all instructions for how to bid (there are almost 50 separate items total). NOTE: when bidding please follow the instructions precisely. Bidding will begin TODAY (9/28/2020) and end midnight Friday, 9 October. Winners will be notified NLT Monday 12 October. Pickup of items will be coordinated for Saturday 19 October at the Jim Steele Memorial Tailgate Event (8:00 noon). Please understand the following: All items will be sold AS IS. There is no way we could verify operation. If there was anything notable (like noticed fuse blown) then that short description was provided. There will be no opportunity to preview the items being sold. Sorry. Please realize that the scope and inconvenience of that would be potentially HUGE for Scott who is holding the material in his basement. There are some really nice items up for grabs if you're a new Ham or experienced, there is sometthing for all I want to thank Scott for the herculean effort in gathering and holding the material, taking the pictures and setting up the bidding site and then distribution. I also want to thank Jack Cavanagh (KB4XF) for thinking of the club and making this all possible. THANKS JACK!!! Thank you and good luck! Cliff K4CASMonday, September 28, 2020
