January 1, 2023: The logo to promote the 60th anniversary event (1964-2024) of the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage (RAST) was introduced with the intention of staging continuous activities throughout the years 2023 and 2024.
January 14, 2023: On the occasion of Children's Day 2023, the Society has organized a public relations event inviting Amateur radio friends to invite their children, grandchildren, and youths to broadcast on the frequencies 144.9375 and 7.128 MHz in order to publicize and instill youths' interest in communications technology through amateur radio.
January 15, 2023: The 2023 New Year's event will be held at the Taste of Mother Restaurant from 11:00 a.m. to give members the opportunity to meet creatively and participate in knowledge activities within the event. Such as communicating in the 10GHz frequency band. Broadcasting in the garden, Parks On The Air (POTA), this year received a good response as always. There were members from both Bangkok and other provinces and representatives of the association attending various events.
February 11, 2023: The Executive Committee Meeting No. 1/2023 via the Zoom application took place from 12:00 noon onwards.
March 4-6, 2023: Off-site transmitting and POTA activities are held at the star viewing area at Tat Mok National Park Phetchabun Province (HS-0136) consisting of the association's committee team and members HS1JZT, E25GGT, E25KFR, E24RBU, E22UYH and E20EHQ, and on this occasion the team also helped give advice and inspected the improvement of the communications equipment of Tak Mok National Park officials.
March 11-12, 2023: The Phetchaburi Province Amateur Radio Association HS7AP together with the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage organized an exam to receive a certificate of an amateur radio operator in the United States and set up a radio transmitting station on the beach where there were fun activities and a dinner together at the event which was held at the Royal Thai Army Convalescent and Rest Center, Chao Samran Beach, Hat Chao Samran Beach.
The Radio Amateur Radio Society of Thailand Under Royal Patronage, led by E23FXX, HS2JFW, HS1JAN and their team, alsso tested broadcasting on the 10GHz frequency in FM and SSB modes on the beach at the event. The results were very good. Many members and radio amateurs took part in this first-of-its-kind experience in Thailand.
March 20, 2023: The RAST A1-OP group was established to support Morse code transmissions and for those interested in Morse Code to discuss and exchange knowledge and guidelines for supporting Morse Code operations with new interested parties. https://www.rast.or.th/a1op
March 24, 2023: HS1FVL, E23NEZ, E20EHQ and HS4SCI being the President and committee members received the opportunity to visit and exchange knowledge at Dr. Charles Simon's office (callsign HS0ZPZ/9M2CS). Dr. Charles has over 40 years of expertise in RF and Microwave design.
March 25-26, 2023: CQWW WPX SSB 2023 activity was held at the HS0AC club station in Pathum Thani Province. This was participation in the competition led by the youth team of the new generation, being E25RAW E25TNM E25RNV and E23JNR, transmitting continuously for 48 hours under the supervision of E23NEZ, the station master.
April 2, 2023: The 2022 Annual General Meeting was held at 10:00 a.m. at Baan Im Sabai Northern Food Restaurant in Nonthaburi Province. Important agenda items included the agenda for approving the 2021 Annual General Meeting and financial statements, reporting operations and 2022 financial statements, and requesting resolutions to amend the association's rules and regulations in Section 7, Finance and Accounting. There were 53 members attending the meeting. Applications could be made for the Intermediate Amateur Radio Exam No. 1/2023 during the 2022 Annual General Meeting and a simulation of the Morse Code exam was provided to give those interested in taking the exam an opportunity to prepare before the actual exam. which was to be held on May 27, 2023 at the Phet Building at the Bangkok University Campus in Rangsit.
April 12-15, 2023: HS4SCI and E21FYK, representating the Society, attended a meeting to build a 3U CubeSat amateur radio satellite for communication and weather monitoring in cooperation between the Radio Amateur Radio Society of Thailand under the Royal Patronage and Kairospace Co., Ltd. in the special City of Seoul, South Korea.
May 4-6, 2023: RAST POTA (Parks on the air) is an activity to promote outdoor broadcasting and to publicize amateur radio to the general public and was held at Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park in Phitsanulok Province (HS-0105) with the Grilled Bear Group giving advice on broadcasting and supporting camping equipment and food supplies.
May 12, 2023: LESA (the Learning Centre for Earth Science and Astronomy) represented by Capt. Thakun Kerdkaew and WM Space Company Limited visited the ground station of the association.
May 13, 2023: The Executive Committee, HS7QNC, Society members and staff jointly removed all items from HS0AC Ratchaphruek Station to return the site to the university. For a total of approximately six years (since October 2017) members have used this location as a venue for various competitions and for installing communication systems for public works and research throughout the past. The society offers thanks to HS1IFU and the university for this opportunity.
May 27, 2023: The Radio Amateur Radio Society of Thailand Under Royal Patronage together with the NBTC office organized an examination to receive an intermediate amateur radio operator's licence. The exam was organized at Bangkok University's Rangsit Campus. For this exam there were 52 people who took part and a total of 30 people passed the exam to become intermediate class radio amateurs.
June 9, 2023: The Radio Amateur Society of Thailand Under Royal Patronage together with the NBTC office conducted a project to organize an examination to receive a certificate for novice amateur radio operators hosted by the staff of the NBTC office from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with 150 people taking the exam and with the kind permission to use the facilities of Thammasat University's Rangsit Centre, as a training and exam location.
June 16-18, 2023: The IARU Region 3 has designated June 17 as QRP Day in order to develop broadcasting skills and to reduce noise. The society, as a member, has organized a QRP Day (when less is more) activity at the Kaeng Lan tent area in Saraburi Province. More than 20 members participated and those interested in joining helped by setting up tents and broadcasting with low transmitting power.
June 21, 2023: The Society received a straight key, ERAWAN model STR-101, being one complete set and two economical sets, from Mr. Phong Sosombun, callsign E20UXA, a lifetime member of the association, number 5507. The association would like to thank him here.
June 30, 2023: HS1FVL, President of the Society, and HS2JFW, Secretary-General of the Society, attended the meeting to discuss progress in improving the use of frequency bands in the 50-54 MHz band through an online system. with the NBTC Office hosting the issue of defining usage areas, authorization and supervision procedures.
July 8-9, 2023: The Society, Intermediate and Advanced class members as well as HS1FVL as an IARU R3 committee member participated in the IARU HF world championship 2023 (E2HQ) held at HS5NMF's farm in Saraburi Province. There were many new members and young people joining as operators.
July 11, 2023: HS1FVL, HS1EFA, HS4SCI and E21FYK visited the International Aviation Industry College and STEM Lab of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. They received a warm welcome from Asst. Prof. Dr. Sermsak Yooyen, Acting Dean. During this event, there was an exchange of knowledge in the field of amateur radio and satellites in the amateur radio business with an agreement to further develop joint academic cooperation as well.
July 18-20, 2023: HS1FVL, E23PKO, HS0KRM, HS1JZT and E23NEZ participated in field training (FTX: Field Training Excercise) on information and communications technology at the 4th Infantry Regiment, Chiraprawat Camp. Nakhon Sawan Province by bringing communication equipment in the HF/VHF amateur radio frequency bands to participate in this field training exercise.
July 28, 2023: On the occasion of the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Phra Paramendra Ramadhibodi Srisinra Maha Vajiralongkorn Mahisara Bhumibol Rajavarangkura Kitisirisumburna Adulyadej Sayamindradhipeshra Rajavarodom Borommanat Pobitra Phra Vajira Klao Chao Yu Hua the Society arranged the offering of auspicious blessings on the frequency of 144.9375 MHz between 17:00 and 19:00 using the callsign HS0AC with HS0VGE acting as an operator to provide opportunities for radio amateurs all over the country and hundreds of forces gathered together to offer loyalty and to remember His Majesty's grace.
August 4, 2023: HS1FVL and HS2JFW attended a meeting to follow the progress and to provide facts on behalf of the association regarding the frequency of 50MHz. In the discussion meeting organized by the NBTC office guidelines for improving the use of frequency bands in the 50-54 MHz band were discussed.
August 6, 2023: The Society's executive committee meeting and RAST meeting activities were held at Baan Im Sabai Northern Food Restaurant in Nonthaburi Province. The meeting began at 10:30 a.m. with 13 committee members attending the meeting and at 12:00 p.m., members and committee members ate a buffet meal together with many members and youth joining in the activities.
August 12, 2023: President of the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage along with the Society's executive committee and amateur radio operators all over the country organized activities to offer their blessings via the association's amateur radio frequencies and various media to show their loyalty to the Queen Mother on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty's birthday.
September 16-17, 2023: “RAST on the Beach 5” activity (RoB#5) was conducted at Khun Yen Skawt's house in Klaeng District, Rayong Province, with fellow members setting up tents, setting up a radio station and having fun talking with each other.
October 15, 2023: The Society organized the activity "THAILAND Single Side Band Sprint Contest" to promote joint activities and to practice broadcasting competition skills and using the frequency of 7173kHz. (+/- QRM)
October 26-29, 2023: Thailand by the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage had been trusted by the IARU Region 3 and radio amateurs in the region to be the host of the IARU Region 3 YOTA Camp – Thailand 2023 activity in Chonburi Province. There were youths from 7 countries, totaling 33 people, including Mr. Pichai. Suwannakit Management Assistant Secretary-General of the NBTC Office, Regional Affairs Division (his position at that time) and Mr. Wahyudi Hasbi, callsign YC1PRY, who was the IARU Region 3 Chairman of Directors and Executive Committee participating in this activity. This was the first YOTA camp event to be conducted in this region.
November 1-30, 2023: The Radio Amateur Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage, as an intermediate and advanced network control radio station used its ability to provide accreditation of amateur radio organizations to renew six amateur radio organizations for 2024.
December 3-31, 2023: On behalf of Thailand, the Amateur Radio Sciety of Thailand under Royal Patronage participated in the December YOTA camp 2023 activity between December 3-31, 2023 using the special callsign E2YOTA, like many countries around the world, to support the youth and the new generation to have an understanding of the activity, with experimentations in amateur radio communications on various frequencies. After the activity ended, there had been a total of 332 QSOs by youths participating.
December 30-31, 2023: The Society and the amateur radio organization E20AX participated in the YOTA contest 3rd round with the participation of radio amateurs from Hungary. using the callsign HA5YD, being Dora Soket, an 11-year-old youth, who joined as the main operator for this activity. The result of the competition was they he ranked 13th in the Single operator all-band YOTA 6-hours category.
