My Shack and I

 

Hello! Welcome to my shack. My name is Oleg. I'm 52 years old and I live in Kashira. Kashira is small town near Moscow (located in south path of region on river Oka). My town is old (about 700 years) and it is as nice in the summer as it is in the winter. My shack is located in old part of the town. I'm working as a communications engineer on the Moscow railway and radio systems - Radio is my profession and my hobby.  

 

My first SWL call was UA3-142-220 (since 1979) and RA3DNC since 1981. Now I have a 1-st category license. My first equipment was a very popular home made Russian tranceiver by UW3DI. My first antennas were dipoles on 160, 80, 40. Now I'm using YAESU FT-1000MP MARK-V Field, Cushcraft A4S, HY-GAIN AV-640, LW on 160/80. PA on russian tube GU-84B - homemade. I'm also using Kenwood TM-733A and Yaesu FT-817ND for VHF and UHF operations. I have an IBM PC and software for ham radio operations - N1MM-log for contests and DX4WIN (now version 8.05) for everyday use. My general interest in HAM RADIO is DX-ind and Contesting. I also work in the CQWW, CQWPX, RussianDX, ARRL 10 and other contests every year.

My other hobby is computers (of course), reading books (especially science fiction), traveling in my auto and seeing nature in the summer and skiing in the winter. I also like music, dancing and TV.
