Tidbits:  We are sorry to have reported that our Chapter Webmaster, John Covington, W4CC passed away on April 17, 2019. Thanks to Tom, N4TL for stepping in as Webmaster and Will, K4IWW as moderator of the chap126Yahoogroup.  ALL should join the Yahoo group to stay informed.  Our newest Chapter Member is Jerry Davis, KE4TTS of Cary.  We thank chapter member Jim Campbell, W4BQP for his donation to the chapter from the sale of his surplus radio gear. Jim is our chapter’s latest Life Member. KJ4WD is about ready to move to his new smaller abode in Fuquay Varina. We hope his time off the air is minimal. KB8V is still working on finding a buyer for his place in Wake Forest. Potential buyers can be fussy at times. Owen, K1AF will be leaving Wilmington in June and moving to Ohio to be nearer family.  ND4MR has been downsizing his radio gear since officially retiring and is preparing his home for sale. He plans to move to a senior facility in Western Carolina.  W4TJE announced to the net he has a “Love Me” wall, alias his growing QSL Card Collection! The chapter continues to look for a permanent Net Control Station for our Saturday morning net. Several members, including N4TL, KJ4WD and W8WZ have filled in. Working with HOAs continues to be a challenge but now remote radio operation has been a possible solution. K3OS helps K1AF be on the chapter net regularly. K1AF has been in ham radio some 70 years. N4TL continues to chase DX and Grid Squares on 160 and 60 meters, particularly with the FT-8 Mode. KJ4WD is enjoying new hearing aids and realizes more and more what he has been missing. We have learned that NC4EW, one of the first in Guilford County and WX4F are certified EMTs.  K1AF tells us the Solar Cycle 25 is expected to be similar to that of Cycle 24. Our net frequency of 3.853 MHz has been satisfactory for the last few months. Thanks again to KJ4WD for our Tidbits.

Upcoming Hamfests: Durhamfest May 25; Salisbury July 6; Cary July 20; Asheville July27; Fayetteville August 10; Shelby August 31, 1-2; W4DXCC/SEDCO Sept 20, 21.

Chapter 126 Weekly Net: About 3.853 MHz, 8:45AM each Saturday morning. Look for a frequency announcement from the NCS on the chapter reflector about 15 minutes before net time.
