very strong solar noise bursts 9-7: 2232 and 9-9: 1635

32.96 and 35.28 believed to be medical paging systems in Argentina
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Solar activity is picking up (as noted by the noise bursts above). The
flux near mid September was the highest for any Sept since 1974. If such
levels can be maintained, the fall F2 VHF season may be the best in the
last few years. (The flares associated with the solar noise bursts above
did cause blackouts on h.f., i.e., D-region absorption of signals preven-
ting their reaching the E or F layers).

With this in mind, it is important that members who can monitor for
US F2 effects (i.e., 33-MHz fire, 35-MHz pagers, etc.) carefully log
and report the DX they get. Even approximate ID's (states etc.) are
of some use in calculating MUF's.
