SELECTABLE
POWER OUTPUT |
Four
selectable power output levels are provided: 60/25/10/5
Watts. The power selection can be stored into memory,
allowing you to conserve power while using strong local
repeaters.
|
EXTENSIVE
MEMORY SYSTEM |
The FT-2600M
includes a total of 175 memory channels, including 170
"regular' memories, two pairs of subband-limit
memories, and an instant-recall "Home" channel
you can dedicate to a frequently-used repeater or
simplex frequency. Memories can store repeater shift
information, CTCSS/DCS data, power output level,
scanning status ("Skip" or "Stop"),
and Alpha-Numeric labels. |
ALPHA-NUMERIC
CHANNEL DISPLAY |
Memory
channels may be displayed either with the channel
frequency or a personalised Alpha-Numeric label, for
easy channel recognition. Up to eight letters,
characters, or numbers may be used for labeling channels.
|
CTCSS
and DCS ENCODER / DECODER BUILT IN |
For easy
repeater access or silent monitoring of busy channels,
both CTCSS and DCS (Digital Code Squelch) Encoder/
Decoder circuits are built in. CTCSS and DCS
configuration data may be stored independantly in each
memory channel. |
VERSATILE
SCANNING CAPABILITY |
The
FT-2600M's high-speed scanning function includes a
choice of scanning resume options ("carrier
drop" or "time delay"), with scanning
provided on the memories, the VFO, or a limited VFO
sub-band established by one of the 'Programmable Memory
Scan" memories (I L/I U and 2L/2U). You can program
certain continuous-carrier memories (e.g. weather
broadcasts) to be skipped during scanning, for maximum
efficiency. |
Easy
Packet Radio Interfacing |
For packet
operation at either 1200 bps or 9600 bps, the rear
panel's DATA jack provides connection points for
transmit data, receiver audio, PTT, and ground. Signal
levels, bandwidths, and impedances are all optimised for
the data rate selected.

ADMS-2E
Windows PC Programming Software |
Memory
channel programming is a breeze with the optional
ADMS-2E Windows PC Programming
Software. The handy kit includes a 3½"diskette and
a programming interface cable. Use your computer to
create frequency files or each city you visit, or for
cloning groups of transceivers for public-service events! |
|
SMART
SEARCH |
The Smart
Search
feature may be used to load - automatically with no
operator intervention - a special bank of up to 50
memory channels based on activity. Smart Search
Will sweep either the entire band or the portion of the
band within the Programmable Band-Scan Limits, and will
load the special memory bank with frequencies on which
activity is found. Smart Search
is very helpful when visiting a city for the first time,
allowing you to be ready for operation on channels where
the action is! |
AUTO
RANGE TRANSPONDER SYSTEM
(ARTS) |
The
Auto-Range Transponder System uses DCS to allow two
radios to track each other every 30 seconds. Especially
helpful during Search-and-Rescue operations, ARTS
allows a base FT-2600M to advise field hand-held units
when they have moved out of communications range, thus
notifying the field operator to move to a better
location.
|
EXCELLENT
RECEIVER PERFORMANCE |
The
FT-2600M's receiver front end features Yaesu's renowned
Advanced Track Tuning input filtering, which affords
outstanding protection from intermodulation distortion. |
MH-36B6J
DTMF Direct Access Microphone |
The
backlit MH-36B6J
allows direct keypad operating frequency entry, or
keypad memory channel recall. On transmit, the MH-36B6J
allows manual entry of DTMF tones for autopatch use,and
the FT-2600M also includes an 8-memory, 16-digit DTMF
Autodialer. Three user-programmable keys on the
microphone may be configured for easy control of
Repeater Shift, Squelch-Override Tone/DCS, Tone Search,
or European Tone Burst. |
INTERACTIVE
PROGRAMMING MENU |
The Menu
system includes 33 transceiver settings, allowing the
operator to "Set and Forget" many operating
configurations. |
SUPPLY
VOLTAGE DISPLAY |
When you turn
on the radio, the current DC supply voltage will be
indicated on the display for one second. After this
interval, the display will resume its normal indication
of the operating frequency. |
AND
SO MUCH MORE... |
Additional
features include: *Transmit Time-Out-Timer(TOT) *Automatic
Power-Off(APO) *Automatic Repeater Shift *Front-mounted
Speaker OS-Meter RF Squelch *Wide/Narrow Bandwidth
setting, for reduction of TX deviation and RX bandwidth
in areas of channel congestion.
