Hello Joe.

Found some activity today on 1296.  Had a great contact with OH3MCK who are using 4 yagi
and 200W from KP11WL.  He have a great signal and many should be able to work him.  On
random worked SK0UX and I5MPK too.
I will be back for august sked weekend, and looking for skeds (432-1296-2304)!

Subj:    [Moon-net] UHF:My first echo on 47 GHz July 24 2004
Date:   7/25/04 4:51:21 AM Eastern Daylight Time
From:   [email protected] (Sergei RW3BP)
Sender: [email protected]
To:     [email protected]

Hello everyone

Yesterday I got my first echo on 47 GHz. I started test at 15.40 UTC when
the moon came to limited sector of my dish (moon az 192.0  el 23.6). Very
soon I found my echo (thanks to F2TU - his EME Doppler programm is working
fine). Echo was weak but visible on Spectran as a cloud one second long and
300 Hz wide. Moon noise was 0.4 dB and falled to 0.2 dB at 18 degrees of
elevation when I lost my echo and then lost the moon. Signal was highly
diffused by doppler smear and atmosphere turbulence. It was hot and very
high humidity.
Rig:
Dish - 2.4m offset partially illuminated by W2IMU horn (equal to 1.8m)
Rx - 12dB LNA + OE9PMJ filter + shottky diode mixer. NF 4.8 dB
Tx - TWT , output power more then 100W

Hi Joe & AL,

Been busy on the new RS485 board ( for incremental encoders) that will
have at the EME conference and a new relay interface PROTO board for the
controller board..

Also RUSS K2TXB is in the process of adding a new tracking program
designed by W4SM, Stacey Mills, TRACK_SM, it is a free program that is
not on the site yet as just doing the needed software to interface to
the controller..

Also have the latest "DrzCtrl.hex" ready for those that should up date
the PIC software in our controller as it fix's a couple of bugs..

Those that wish to update the PICC just drop me a note and will send the
new HEX file..

best tom

DL Time (32000 bps): < 1 minute

Attatched is a copy of what I have been sending to those who have questions
about mounting the relay and pre-amp...   Good poop for band below 1296 also...   Lot of
guys wonder why their big yagis are not playing.....    Hell - they have a
NF at the pre-amp of well over 1 db...
