Hi Al,

Delivery of the Email address lists for 9/03, 10/03, 11/03, 12/03 and 1/04
all bounced when directed to Zl1KA at the address he had been using. I
marked his address as having delivery problems with a "?" on the 10/03
through 1/04 lists and then removed him from the list starting with the
02/04 list to reduce useless traffic on the internet. I see he has changed
his email address to [email protected] but I did not get the word. I can
now put him back on my list.

I am not involved in the distribution of Moon-net or Net Notes. But these
problems may be for the same reason......changing an email address and not
notifying the necessary people to continue receiving information as before.
With all the spam and virus attacks, a number of people are changing their
email addresses. Some do notify me but the list of bouncing addresses is
growing from those that do not. It may be worth a couple of lines in your
NL to tell people that the reason they are not getting updates of the Email
Address List, or now the pdf/txt versions of your NL, may be that I do not
have their correct address or their spam filters are rejecting delivery.

Hi Joe, Chalk up 2 qso's off tonights skeds. Thanks for making them for
me. Driving rainstorm here and a little windy, but new tracking system
stayed dead nuts the whole time. Just had to set the doppler. Heard my
echoes at 0122 with about 2.6 deg of Moon. Fortunado was a bit late but
we had the reports in the bag by 0145z...9H1ES was 559 on the meter, Fortunado
gave me MO MO MO...es 329. BTW his freq was pretty close about 1296.050
plus 1.33 khz. Greg was a F/b 559 but he didn't come back to me when I
called him on transceive and dumped my echoes on him. I wised up and stayed
on ,010 with rx split. That did the trick...559 both ways. Again thanks
for your help with the skeds. When you called me on 20 I was on the phone
with the other Greg. My rig was up on 12 meters where I'd just worked a
5h3. Don't know what I missed, but if it involved the skeds, it worked
out fine. Hope to see you on 20 next weekend. 73 Bruce

Microwave Update 2004
Call for Papers

Microwave Update 2004 will be held in Dallas, Texas on October 15 and 16. The scope of
this conference is to share with your fellow microwavers, your technical achievements in
the field of amateur microwave communications and experimentation. You are invited to
participate by presenting a technical paper or submitting information for publication in
the Microwave Update Proceedings.

If you are interested in presenting a paper at the conference, please contact Al Ward W5LUA
[email protected] For the actual talk at the conference, PowerPoint presentations are preferred,
but not required. The conference will provide an LCD projector and overhead projector to its
participants. If your presentation requires a different format, such as a slide projector,
please contact a Microwave Update committee member prior to the conference. As usual we would
like to have each speaker's paper included in the proceedings if at all possible.

The Microwave Update 2004 Proceedings will be published by the ARRL. You do not need to be a
speaker to have your material included in the proceedings. The important thing to remember is,
if you have technical material you would like to have published in the proceedings to share with
your fellow microwave enthusiasts, please send it along. Material must be submitted to Kent
Britain no later than August 16, 2004 . Electronic format and photo ready hard copy should be

Guidelines for Papers for Conference Proceedings

Paper: Size should be 8½ ´ 11-inches.
Margins: Top and sides should be 0.75 inches; bottom must be 1 inch.
Type: You may use any font you'd like. The type should be clean and easy to read.
Layout: Either a one or two-column format is fine.
Page numbers: Don't include them on the front of your paper. You may write the page
number on the reverse side in light pencil. This is helpful especially in the case
of very long papers.
Drawings: Should be in black ink, dark pencil or computer generated. Please center
them properly on each page. Place drawings where you'd like them to appear in the
text, or leave a space for the drawing and mark the space and drawing. If placement
is not indicated, photos will run after the text.
Photos: Color or black-and-white prints. Leave a space for the photo and mark the space.
Do not write directly on the back of the photo. Use a post-it or piece of paper then
attach it to the back of the photo to indicate placement. If placement is not indicated,
photos will run after the text.
Electronically: If you're including drawings and photos electronically in your paper,
they should be black-and-white. Conference proceedings are printed in black and white.
Do not expect a color graph, drawing or photo to print well.
Printers: If at all possible, do not use a color printer. The ink has a tendency to
smudge when "page numbering" and during the printing process. If you have to use a color
printer, please include a note and we'll process the paper differently.
Printing: We print what we receive. If your paper is not centered or has "copy" marks,
that's the way it will appear in the proceedings. If it's over the margin dimensions,
it will be photo reduced.
