now they pretty much compare. TS-2000 does not have 23cm module, just 23cm to 144m
xvtr. www.w2uhi.com has many pix of EME antennas..
K0YW: echo same comments about the TS-2000.. was also involved in last Sunday gathering
on 23cm EME.. found some preamps with U310 device.. and using them infront of
TS-2000 to help..
WD5AGO: should have 222 EME running by January..
VE3RFQ: ..
WA1JOF: Readout resolution on TS-2000 is expanded with the 23cm module installed..
will be on moon around 2130z..
N6IJ: Pat.. Monterey, Ca.. questions about parabolic ant.. growing interest in
EME at an old Military installation (FT ORD) 8 to 10 meter dishes have been
offered. Army MARS facilities are available.. [email protected]
web site http://comunities.msn.com/n6ij @@@@@@@@@@
K4AR: QRV on 70cm.. skeds welcome [email protected] in Tennessee
K5JL: concurs with comments about the TS-2000...will not be on 23cm today..
W1TDK: Todd.. questions about dish size ...
VE9RWG: Seasons Greetings..
KL7HFQ: will not be QRV until spring ..
N4PU: not traffic.. working on 23cm amp..

------------------------
Scheduling techniques for 432 MHz:
It rather easy to synchronize sked-time but to "synchronize" frequency is more difficult.
One way to go on same frequency is to make sked on 28 MHz just before 432 MHz sked and
use a 28 MHz frequency that is 432 divided by 15. And then listening to the 15th harmonic
on 432 MHz. The method works of corse only if there is a 28 MHz skip for that moment,
however one can do this calibration other time of course. If you use a transceiver that
contains both 28 and 432 the other station tune to the first station. I have tried to
listen to the 15th harmonics and it is weak but strong enough to zero-beat on. What do
you think? Is this a method OK? Ex: 432.090 / 15 = 28.806
------------------------
Transceiver to PA "conflict": If you have a transceiver with SWR-protection there will
be a conflict when tuning the input of PA. When the trx "see" higher SWR it close down
power and it becomes more "un resistive" output from trx and you have to tune input of
PA again and so on. To get rid of this problem; put an isolator (or circulator with
dummy-load) close to PA input circuit and the trx will "see" resistive 50 Ohm all time
when tuning PA input circuit and v.v. It works UFB for me on 432 MHz using a 450 MHz
surplus circulator, as it is rather broad banded. I need no more tune anything on PA
and the output increased even if there is a 0.2 dB insertion loss for the circulator.
Please note that the signal goes only one way in a isolator so there is no RX path
through the isolator.

Hi Joe,
I would like to wish you and yours, and through you other EME-ers a Merry X-mas
and a Happy New Year. I hope to be able to get back on EME before too long as soon
as I have my other problems solved. Fortunetely I know that there is some new EME
activity from SP so I feel a little better now.

Hi Joe & All;
I do not expect to be around at Net Time, and would like to take this
opportunity to wish One and All Very Merry Christmas and a Great 2002.
Something that may be of interest:
I joined eQSL http://www.eqsl.cc/qslcard/index.cfm and of all the calls I
could quickly think of within the 432 & ABOVE group, there were QSL cards
there for everyone I checked, K5JL, K0YW, W2UHI, just to name a few.....may
be worth checking for those missing cards.
Regards & Thanks, Darrell
