Hello Joe and all. My 100 watt Varian VTM-6191 bit the dust for unknown
reasons so I am operating with my 30 watt 6196 TWT again. I can hear my
own echoes (weakly) so the system is working reasonably well. I'm always
looking for new 3 cm stations to work but it will take patience on both
ends, hi. I plan to be on next July 21.

Gentlemen:
I think we have to understand the possible problems that Feng and the group
have, after seeing some of the photos
I think he has a very complex rising moon window, I have not asked about a
setting moon. There is the possibility of some noise
as he said that he had "sun noise interference" on one of the earlier test.
I am compiling all the info he has sent me and will have
so that all can see. Right now he is transmitting better than he can here,
and with a 100 watts , still not much of an EME station.
I think that when he gets the ability to here better ,he(they)) will operate
more....

hello OM ray
thank for your report of the test, (27,28 May) although I failed in the QSO.
I didn't make any change of my system in 27 May 2001, the result was not good,
I thought I should have a preamp( I sent it back to be repaired now ),but I
think it will take some time to be repair.when I get the preamp I will inform
you,I think it's not easy to make QSO without preamp.
A japanese EMEer told me that if I have a good attenna system ,it will be
easy making it,I happen very busy thesedays ,then I plan to get a way on it.
Big building maybe influenced the EME mode,I saw a big building in the same
direction of moon( so I couldn't see the moon directly in 25,26 May )
Up to now I didn't make any SKED with others yet , but if I have my preamp
on my system, I will try to make SKED with others ,otherwise I think it's wast
of time for me and others. so if possible please inform DL9NDD
that I am sorry of my bad system I didn't hear him ,and also I don't know he
is calling me .

Hi Joe,
I have attached a sked81 file for next sw.
I have not repaired my system yet, but hope to do so this weekend. I
visited a 30 meter dish today. Amazing. This thing has an elevator that
goes up 6 stories into a room in the center of the dish. I may put some
pictures on the web later. It is an old decommissioned COMSAT earth
station that AT&T has kept operational as a backup. I think the only hope
of operating EME from there would be on 1296. It is Cassegrain feed and
probably would not work on 432.

K5JL: all broke.. antennas are still in disarray.. not QRV on EME..
dish still damaged..
VE1ALQ: did another number on himself.. first the tractor attack, now a
drill got him..
WA1JOF: now has 500w out of 23cm amp.. things are looking up.. ready for
skeds..
W5UN:
N5BLZ/M: no traffic.. looking for K0YW..
WA4NJP: still working with BY4BJA.. Feng does have some building obstructions..
Feng still needs the preamp repaired.. Be patient.. He needs high moon
due to the buildings. No skeds for Ray this month.. Did work W4ZRZ..
W7CNK: nil
K5DDD: nil
W2UHI: QRV again on 23cm EME.. all is working well.. Now considering getting
a TS-2000 .. planning to change the feed to one with polarizer.

KL7HFQ: Six meter opening last night to states. elevation drive not
working.
K5JL: playing on 2, 432, and 6 meters tropo..
W2UHI: been taking readings on current system for reference when feed
gets replaced..
WA1JOF: now has 640w out of amp and ready for skeds..
K2DH: working outside to clear area for new dish.. got some interest
in the 18' dish.. LU8EDR ********
KD4LT: looking for sked with N1BUG.. *******
KA0Y: still has 2 meter feed in..
N5BLZ/M: no traffic.. mobile on vacation.. headed to Alaska...
