Joe,

I don't know if you are aware about SETI " planned " experiments late February 2001.

I have found this information in Space News dated October 9, 2000 at page 16.

" The Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence ( SETI ) League Inc. is using a $ 5000 grant from the American Astronomical Society to bounce microwave radio signals off the moon, SETI Executive Director H. Paul Shuch said in a written response to Space News questions ".

...........

Basically, during last week of February 2001, 98 radio telescopes in 17 countries will receive test signals to confirm that the equipment is operating properly. Signal will originate from New Jersey.

Subj:    NET NOTES for OCT 14, 2000

Hi Joe,

I am racing the clock to get the big antenna operational before the ARRL
contest.  I really should make it.  Got the dish mounted on the 9th and the
crane pictures are on my website.  The last two dish panels should be
installed tomorrow.  I am trying to get the AZ and EL drives operating by
the end of the weekend.  WX is not cooperating so far with wind friday and
rain coming saturday.  This thing is a real monster, but the amazing thing
is the fantastic mobility with this crane bearing.  Today it was not tied
down in the wind and this huge 7000 pound thing was whirling around like a
wind vane.  Finally got some chains on it.

I hope conditions let me check in at least one day this weekend.

Tnx & 73

Dear Joe
Would you please inform the net about the following:

HB9Q QRV on 432 and 1296:
My station is a 15 m dish with 1KW on 432 and 400W on 1296. I can hear my
own echo with less the 10W on both bands. I am only QRV since spring of
2000. So I am keen to work many new stations!
I will be calling CQ on Saturday October 21st between 432.000 and 432.040.
On Sunday I will be calling CQ between 1296.000 and 1296.040. Please listen
for me. I will announce my exact frequency on the moon-net and on the
EME-logger (http://dxworld.com/emelog.html). At the same time we will be
also QRV on 144 MHz EME, therefore I will be using 1 minute periods.
If you wish you may send me an e-mail to [email protected]. Please note: during
the contest please send your e-mail to [email protected].
I hope to work you then!

I wish you good luck with your dish project!
