NET BEGINS
******** I never received any sked requests for the month of September ********
prior to the request from K2UYH. Again, I apologize to the net and the EME ops
for not being here full time. Please understand that I am trying to construct
my 32' dish and for the past 3 weeks, Willie (W1ZX) has been here driving the
project. We have 33% of the dish screened, but a lot more work lies ahead. Need
to do the tower work, counter-balance, controls, feeds etc. I make no prediction
as to when the project will complete, but am devoting all my time to it. I do
believe it is time for all of you to start sending any sked requests to me. I
will try to pick up the fine job that Klaus has been doing. Klaus will still
assist in the skeds untill we get rolling. Comments are welcome.

Joe,
If I don't get on tommorrow morning, I worked KA0Y and he is a new one
for me. Lot of noise here in Ak. Doppler shift was about 1.1kHz here.
Hopefully will be on tomorrow both net and via moon.

K9BCT/M: doing more checks on the 23cm to 28mhz rcv converter.. no
noticeable
problems .. seems to outperform the 23cm to 144mhz to 28mhz.. looking
for more info on xverters/converters from 23cm direct to 28mhz.. still
looking for GR-1236.. did SSB Electronics ever make one ??
to k9bct
as far as i know ssb electronics never made a 1296/28 xverter as the
filtering requirements for the image reject filter were too tight for a pcb
design. I have heard of people having partial success with 1296/28
converters based on the w2cqh "3D" interdigital design

WW2R is now in Uk as g4fre until at least xmas, so there will be no activity
from ww2r on arrl eme contest, however there is a possibility of G4FRE
activity from IO91, depends on my ability to get the eht psu over to UK as
well as the 20W 10G ssb syste; my apartment is at the end of the Heathrow
runway so I have a good opportunity to do some experiments on aircraft

Hi Joe,
Hope to try to check in this weekend. Worked KAØY 559/529 for initial #57
on 8/27 and JA6AHB 539/339, despite the close proximity of the sun. Dish
progress: I have assembled the dish all except for a few panels for crane
access. The tower is finished. The tower top with bearing plate was
lifted up by forklift at 10:30 PM (in the dark) this past Thursday. I am
now hoping to do the crane no later than next friday.
Tnx & 73
