Building the LOW - Band Receiving 4 - Square , disigned by Lee K7TJR. |
After an few years with good working beverages I felt that they don't work as good as they did in the past.
I think that i can explain why, this farmers field was many years weed for the cows and about 3 years ago he started to cultivate his field with corn.
That means that this field has to plough in April and for the last time around August, most of the time I do it for him so I can setup my RX station so soon as possible. But due this plough work the soil gets loose, so during the rain periode it gets wetter and wetter.... till the water stays on the field.
That is the stage where the beverages lose there RX value. I was at first not aware of this problem but when i had installed the K9AY I knew it was not that what I was used too. So I had too find another receive system what did not care about water and would work under all circumstances. So I found this receive system what Lee disigned , I build it up in the winter time ...have to say that I burried the coax and stering + power(13,8v) cable just before the winter started. The Controller is about 240m behind my schack and about 200m away from the TX antenna. Made some isulators to keep the vertical elements on there place. I made an small mistake concering the isulator, I did not think that the top isulator would get out the steel clamp but during the dismantel of the vertical system I saw that the vertical made contact with the ground. So this was also an reason that it didn't work proper. So till this moment I can not give any good receive results....I have too play more with it and compare them all with each other.
