I was born 1965 in Zilina. After graduation 17 school year I was certificated on VSD Zilina, department mechanical engineer. Since 1977 year I am member of radioclub OM3KZA. I was spend military service in Strasice (OK), district Rokycany. We are found with Roman OK2PWR and Mirek OK2FUG radio-club OK1ORG in which I made till to outgoing to non-combatant chief operator. Up to this day I very gladly remember on UHF contests with team OK1KRY - my nicest experience from military service, hi. I got first licence OK3CUG in 1984 year. I built for band 80m TRX with synchrodyne receiver and a aerial LW 27m. Power of the transmitter was 600 mW. They were ages of the sunny minimum, I've done heap contacts herewith QRPP. Strike at night I was calling W1RM and I got report 559. That I was already definitive "caught" on QRP and remain me it up to this day. Then I built the PA 3W and in ARRL test I made in 80m band 50 QSOs...They were hair-raising ages and also QSL cards walks through buro.
In 1987 year I made in Bratislava city examination on class B. By year-book from meeting TATRY I built TRX Atlas, which with little reforms I use up to this day. Till to marriage in 1993 year I dedicated the majority spare time to chase DX with QRP on HF. Then already time was lesser and when comes childrens, it was one yet lesser. My wife Maria conciliates with my hobby and the rig for the time being did not sink of the dust. Now I more follow DX expedition and sometimes I do some one. Expedition OKDXF czech amateurs are UFB, I've done their from: 3D2KT, T33RD, KP2AD. But they are impassable G3SXW a G3TXF, soon every time they receive my poor signals and WHENEVER to send card via buro. They are really understanding Europe and they are hearing!
Behind 16 year working with a little power output I am finding that is possible to do a lot of pretty QSOs and to overcharge also pile up. I was working ZD9SXW till the fourth day operation! It will mightily patience and a bit better antennas look like LW. Contests are ideal for the DXing with QRP, always is a little while, when I call alone. It is most important.
I hope hearing from you and on finish I slightly modify an popular idea OH2BH: Life IS NOT short for the QRP...
This is my ham shack in block of flats: PC 486DX100 MHz which I use mainly for the PSK31 mode and creation these what you are reading, handy ALLAMAT 501 2m FM for the packet radio, home made 9 band TRX Atlas with an external DDS VFO. On the transceiver is ATU for LW 60m and above PSV meter with power output meter.
And my ham shack since 2001 year - FT817 is really UFB rig! I built new Yagi antennas for the VHF / UHF bands.
