My hobby

My most interesting hobby is amateur radio. I prefer shortwave DXing, CW and contesting, but playing with digital modes, antennas, computers and RF circuits is funny also. I like good ICOM transceivers, good home made antennas, warm English tea and cold Czech beer.

I am member of OK2KLI club station, Federation of Moravian radioamateurs (SMSR) and OK DX amateur radio club.


My current DXCC status is: 250 countries worked; 142 countries confirmed (all band, mix mode).


My RIGs:

  • TRX Icom IC-746.
  • TRX Icom IC-W32E for 2m/70cm FM, mainly used for packet radio.
  • Computer PC compatible with Intel Celeron 333A, 64MB RAM, 6GB HDD.
  • Antennas: 2el. delta loop for 14, 21, 28 MHz, trapped GP for WARC, dipole for 7 MHz, 120m LW, HB9CW for 50 MHz, collection of YAGIs for 2m/70cm FM.

  • Fortunately, my hobby is my job also. I was study on electrotechnical high school and next Technical university of Brno, department radioelectronic. After university I work few years as serviceman in telecommunication company, next few years as technician and serviceman of portable computers TOSHIBA, and now I am employed in company VYCOM, as technician also. Our company make complete solutions in private mobile radios (PMR) and paging networks. Owners of this company are radioamateurs also.
