2014 QRP TTF will be May 3rd 1200Z (8:00 AM) to May 4th 2359Z (7:59 PM) this year.  (http://www.zianet.com/qrp/ )

Our Northern Ohio QRP Club (KS8M) will set up somewhere and operate in the contest again this year.  Please let me know if you are interested in coming and getting on the air and/or helping with logging.

Last year we set up at Findley State Park.  We reserved the shelter, got permission to operate over night and stay for the whole event.  Many places have a closed at dusk or some set time.  This year’s location has not been set yet of course so any suggestion will be appreciated and we can decide from the list where we will operate from this year.  Since we are all spread out geographically quite a bit and will grow and expand this even more, the location may be closer to an area with more participants but not necessarily.  The location can be a park, a backyard, anywhere we have the ability to set up about four HF stations, most having a dipole supported by trees.  Since we will have quite a few people in & out and others for the whole time keep in mind the need for restrooms, ability to cook food, take a nap plus parking room.  Shelter from the elements would be a plus but some 10x10 screened shelters can be used too.  Commercial power would be a plus for power supplies, lighting and laptops.  There has not been a battery or alternate power source requirement nor bonus points in the past.  We did operate rigs on batteries last year.

Also include in your replies if you would plan on bringing anything to supports the club event.  This can be a station (or part of one), table lamp, (anything for operating).  Food, drinks, table setting supplies are also going to be needed.  A little something from everyone is better and more fun than a U-Haul truck packed full of gear and supplies from one or two individuals.

Please don’t feel obligated to bring something if you can’t, that’s OK, just please come at least for a little while sometime during the event.

Hope to hear from all of you soon and see you for QRP TTF,

Alan AC8AP  (Click here to e-mail me)
