Other Callsigns
You may have worked me operating with one of these
callsigns:
V31TP - John, WCØW (V31TP), Alan, NSØB (V31EV), and
I (V31BC) operated the full 48 hours of the 2005 ARRL CW DX Contest from San
Ignacio, Belize. Our claimed score was over 5.1 million, with 5,222
QSOs after removing dupes. Thanks to everyone who worked us, especially
those who called us in the early morning hours.
WP2Z - I operated the Windwood contest QTH during the 2000 CW ARRL
November Sweepstakes. I made 1,100 QSOs low power with a clean sweep
for 176,000 points, good for fifth place overall.
NØNI - I occasionally am one of the multi-op team members
operating from Toni's contest superstation during major DX contests. Toni
has stacked yagis on 10, 15, and 20 meters on rotating towers. He also
has a 40 meter beam as well as four-square antennas for 80 and 160. It
sure is fun to be loud. I also helped Toni at his old place in Jasper
county, way back when he was NCØP.
WØAK - This is the club call of the Des Moines Radio Amateurs
Association, of which I am the Treasurer (some say 'Treasurer for Life').
I usually operate at the joint Field Day held with the local ARCS club
(Amateur Radio and Computer Society) at Big Creek State Park in Polk County,
Iowa.
NUØQ/M - On long driving trips, I now have an IC-706IIG with
a Little Tarheel antenna on the roof. I usually hang around the county
hunters on 14.336 MHz.
