I received my Novice license in 1989 as KB7IXN. Achieved Amateur Extra in 1991. I waited a year to upgrade my Advance call. I received AA7PD as my Extra class call. I kept that call until the vanity call program allowed me to change it in 1996. I am now on my second vanity call. I like this one, so plan to keep it for a long time.

I am really into DX & contesting. I am also now getting very interested in VHF DXing. I enjoy alternative modes of propagation like Au & Es. I operate primarily CW on all bands. I have loved trains since I was a kid & the CW mode is kinda like the old railway telegraphers operation. Of course, I go to any mode the DX wishes..hi

My XYL Coleen K7LRF and I have fun contesting and DXing together. We also run HF mobile and like to put rare Montana counties on the County Hunter's net. Field Day is our favorite operation of the year.

I have lead several special event stations here in Montana. Our first was the W7A Lewis & Clark operation in July of 1998. Then the W7G Glacier Waterton Hamfest 65th ann. station of July 1999. Finally was the W7W National Weather Service special event November 27, 1999.

LOOK FOR W7R NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPECIAL EVENT STATION DECEMBER 1 & 2, 2000! OPERATING FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN GREAT FALLS, MONTANA.

Having a blast in the 'Last Best Place!'
