Q. What are the requirements to join the Kalamazoo County RACES program?

| You must be an Amateur Radio Operator with a valid license. | |
| You must complete the state requirements. | |
| You must pass a background (LEIN) check conducted by KCSD. | |
| You must be approved by the Emergency Management director and by the Kalamazoo County RACES radio officer. | |
| You must attend at least 3 of the monthly RACES meetings, prior to
being issued an ID card. |

| Complete the State Requirements. | |
| Upon completion of the prerequisites, an ID card will be issued. |
Q. What are the new requirements?
NOTE: As of this time 2/04, it appears that the old IS-2 requirement is the only certification required by the State. Your local EM may have other requirements.

Alternatively, information may be obtained during the weekly ARPSC net. It is on
the 147.000 repeater on Wednesday at 7:30(EDT) or 8pm(EST). We do not have a net on the 2nd
Wednesday of the month. (Meeting night).
