On a weekend near New Year's Day, they hold an outside Rock concert in McMurdo. They call it Icestock.


Wow, corporate franchise? No, just humor McMurdo style.

Here I am standing near the monument at Hut Point erected for George Vince, who drowned near that spot in March 1902. He was a member of the Robert Scott Discovery Expedition.


McMurdo is in the background over Winter Quarter;s Bay. The ice pier is in the foreground.


Our radome developed a rip in one of the panels requiring replacement. It was in a difficult place to replace.


While the weather is warm in the summer (30s), we get the antenna PMs completed. Here Tony is working on the antenna inside the radome.

Look hard here, and you will see Pegasus Airfield, with a C-141 approaching. The airfield is about 15-20 miles out of town.
