Maritime Mobile Jones Beach September 15, 2025

Different radios and antennas were tested and contacts were made on the 10 Meter band.
A great day of learning out on the water and a great day on the radio.
Valley Stream POTA Spetember 12, 2025
Club members of NCPARC gathered at Valley Stream State park for a POTA activation. We learned and shared ideas and
equipment from each other and many contacts were made on the 20 meter band. A great day of radio and enjoying our State parks.
POTA August 2025
On August 25, 2025 some members of NCPARC met up at Sunken Meadows State Park in Suffolk County New York for a POTA activation.
Six operators in total. The weather was perfect with partly cloudy skies and temps around the upper 70s.
The key goal was to have a relaxing day at the park but at the same time we had some objectives, learn how to set up portable
equipment in the field from power supplies to transceivers to antennas.
Test out what works and what doesn't and finally make some contacts. We had several transceivers, antennas and power supplies.
We set up camp near a river and hope to tap into the nearby ''salt water amplifier''.
After a few hours we learned that somethings worked while others did not. We also swapped and tested our equipment in different
configurations.
In the end it was a great way to meet up and enjoy the hobby in person in a beautiful state park.
Over 30 contacts were made and we had one official activation with a second coming within one of the the official POTA
number of 10 unique contacts to certify an activation.
We all learned a lot but again we had a great afternoon of radio amongst friends.

Field Day 2025
Amateur Radio Field day is a yearly national event where hams across the country set up temporary communications
stations and communicate in a manner to simulate an emergency where commercial power is no longer available. It is also
an open house to showcase the importance of amateur radio .
