Here are a few semi-random items related to recent contest efforts. I may start posting scores or rate sheets when I have some scores or rate sheets worth posting ;-)  You can find a whole bunch of Field Day photos and results here

Wisconsin QSO Party 1998:   Jerry, N9JER and I did the '98 WIQP from a park in Juneau County WI.  We took Jerry's camper and setup "Field Day style" with a tribander and balloon supported dipole - you can see the dipole in the upper left and the ladder holding up the beam on the right.

We had a great time but the score could have been better.  This is the HF station inside the camper consisting of a TS-440 and AL-80B amp.  The generator had a hard time with the amp and we could only run about 300W most of the time - at least on the bands where RF didn't lock up the keying interface! That's yours truely below trying to catch up on 40CW.  I think there was only one other station on from Juneau so at least we were able to hand out a good multiplier.

September 1999 ARRL VHF:  In September '99 we started using my place for VHF contests. We use the call NI9E and enter the Limited Multiop class with stations on 50,144,220 & 432Mhz.  Here's a shot of some of the "E-Team" from that weekend.  L-R are KA9WXN, NI9E, N9VA and N9FH.

This is what the shack looked like in the "heat of battle".  Didn't get too hot since most of the effort was in setting up and debugging and we didn't operate the full period.  N9VA is on 6m, NI9E is on 2m with KA9WXN working the 220/432 position.  You can see the entry panel for feedlines on the upper right.

September 2000 ARRL VHF:  The bands were pretty flat for this one but we were in it full-time. Here's a group shot of the guys that were left at the end on Sunday night.  The new antennas played well and we learned a few things (as usual) about how to run in the limited multiop class.

Pictured are L-R (back row) KA9WXN, N9VA, WB9UAI (front row) N9FH, N9LLT
