Clyde Amateur Radio Society is an affiliated and Special Service Club of the American Radio Relay League in the Ohio section. The club serves the civilian and amateur radio community in the Clyde, Bellevue, Fremont and surrounding areas with emergency and public service communications. We are active with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and the National Weather Service SKYWARN program in cooperation with the ARRL Field Organization. Enjoy your visit to our site! |
The General meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Clyde Municipal Building, 222 North Main Street, Clyde (corner of Main and Duane streets).
Enter the lot through the Duane St. entrance -- Enter the building from the rear entrance, and either take the stairs or elevator to the basement community room. There is plenty of parking in the lot, and all facilities are handicapped accessible.
Many of the members of the Clyde Amateur Radio Society meet to discuss club activities and other ham-related issues on the weekly CARS Net. Look for us on the Club's repeater system on 145.35 MHz every Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. local time!
If you've never acted as a Net Control Station, this is an ideal way to improve your on-air operating skills. Plus, it's great practice and a lot of fun. Our Net Manager, Mark Durnwald, KA8FZS, can tell you more about it.
The Clyde Amateur Radio Society sponsors both a 2-meter and 70-cm repeater using the callsign of the License Trustee, Steve Karr, NF8E. Both repeaters are open machines (any Technician or higher licensed ham can use them).
The 2 meter machine operates on 145.350 MHz with a CTCSS of 123.0 Hz. When in guard mode (usually from midnight to 7 a.m. and during band openings) either CTCSS encode or 741 DTMF will open the receiver. The repeater is located at the Vine Street water tower in Clyde.
