Scott had also hidden a transmitter in the Grandstand for an
on foot hunt.
Steve, Kb8ukc took the honors, finding it in about 5 minutes,
followed by
AA8LF at 10 minutes, and we didn't get times on Dennis and Tyler.
Nice job guys.
One unusual twist came before
the hunt started, when Dennis told me I'd
programmed Scott's old call (n8ueg) into the keyer for the main fox.
Of
course I didn't bring a set of paddles to change it, so made do
with
an 1/8" stereo plug and jack knife. I put the point of the knife
on
the ground lug, and up between the ring and tip lugs, dits on the
left,
dahs on the right. It took a few tries, but I succeeded.
Saturday, April 15th is the
national fox hunt day.
Anyone interested andavailable for a hunt please let me
know.
