Monthly Arizona Section News Summary - January 2006

Happy New Year!

CLUBS
Mary and I are putting together a list of people that would make themselves available to speak at club meetings. If you have an interesting subject in which to speak about please let Mary and I know. Mary will be sending out the completed list to the clubs. Mary Ahls W4NZJ, Arizona section Club Coordinator [email protected]

YOUNG HAM OF THE YEAR AWARD
Many of you know about the Ham of the Year award that Amateur Radio Council of Arizona (ARCA) gives out at the Williams Hamfest every year. Several of you have approached me about starting a Young Ham of the Year award. Mary Ahls W4NZJ and I have been working on this. In fact Mary has designed a logo already. At the last ARCA meeting I suggested that this award should be managed by ARCA. I am hoping that ARCA will approve this idea at their next meeting at the Scottsdale Hamfest. If everything works out we might be able to give out the first award this year. Be thinking about who you would nominate for this award. I have one financial sponsor of this award already, however, if you or your club would also like to help sponsor this award please let me know.
