MY ONLINE FRIEND

Today I had some free time,
So what do you think I did?
My fingers pecked away at the keyboard,
To see what you may have sent.

I still drive down to the mailbox,
To retrieve all my postal mail!
But I'd rather have it come instantly,
Than waiting for Uncle Sam's snail mail.

Connecting to my e-mail,
Is always so much fun,
For never a day goes by or passes,
That there not a greeting or two from someone.

I feel so blessed in so many ways,
Your greetings bring on the smiles,
For I know out there at the other end,
I'm connected to a wonderful friend.

I have my share of hard days,
When I really need to share,
And it is then I come to the keyboard,
Knowing there will be a friend who will listen and care.

And to this friend I want them to know,
That I stand ready to help where i can.
For I know that the road that we travel,
Is a road chock-full of unknowns.

It is a very strange kind of bond we form,
Not normal in any of it's ways,
But I have never found where it is written,
That a friendship has to be formed face to face.

That funny joke or little note,
Or just a big "Hello",
Is always a ray of sunshine,
That lightens and brightens my day.

I wrote this poem to simply tell,
And dedicate these verses,
To my online pals so they will know,
How much their friendship is welcomed.

Thank you for being my online friend!
May our friendship continue to grow,
May your life be filled with happiness,
For those e-mail moments that set me aglow.

Written to thank my many internet friends that I chat
and exchange e-mail with. God Bless...Jim
