My Christmas Wish

MY CHRISTMAS WISH

I often wish I could have been there that night,
I have pondered about it many times before,
I would have liked to look up to visually see,
That night God opened heaven's doors.

I often wish I could have been there that night,
To listen to God's holy choir as it sang,
To hear the heavenly music sound forth,
To record it for generations of the future to come.

I often wish I could have been there that night,
To be with the shepherds on that lonely quiet hill,
I am not for sure if they knew where to go,
As they listened and listened and listened until...

I often wish I could have been there that night,
To visit with Mary, God's chosen one, and
To share with Joseph all the Good News,
Oh, if I could have only been there that night.

I often wish I could have been there that night,
To look into that precious baby's face,
Never, never will we fully understand,
That God loved us so much he sent his Son.

Merry Christmas to all as you read this brief poem,
As I have really enjoyed thinking it through,
To think back over the true meaning of my thoughts,
"Oh, if I could have only been there that night".

Ruth and I want to thank all of you for your love,
For your friendship we know that is true.
May God be your guide this coming New Year
And walk very close with you too.
