Zhivago
He comes from a time
When life was much simpler
And war the more brutal
Yet we have both known
The same passion and ecstasy,
Yurii and I.
We both married well,
To the loves of our youth,
And sired lovely children
And built a forever
Which could not sustain itself,
Yurii and I.
Both he and I suffered
A forced separation,
He on the battlefield,
I from insanity.
Still we have persevered,
Yurii and I.
And when we took lovers
It was to seek shelter
From all that surrounded us.
We both loved well
And knew deep inspiration,
Yurii and I.
His tale ended tragically,
Old and alone
Still seeking the love
Which he sacrificed nobly.
In that way we're different,
Yurii and I.
We've so much in common
It's hard to remember
That he is a fantasy,
I merely human.
Yet we could be brothers,
Yurii and I.
