Eclipse

Watching the bronze moon
Rise in total eclipse
Was all the more spectacular
For sharing it with you
In the numbing cold
And the howling wind
At the top of the hill
By the enchanted lake,
Clinging together for warmth.
And I know beyond doubt
That as the earth's shadow
Receded slowly across
Selene's silver smile,
You too were moved.
You proved that
By the spectacular
Celestial event which followed,
Eclipsing all else.
