Enlightenment came
To visit, interrupting
My meditation.
My brothers and I
Sit in a circle of prayer,
Older but not wise.
The Master knows most.
If he knew still more, he would
Be the Creator.
Today is the last
Day of everyone's past life.
Tomorrow beckons.
Another year gone.
With it, another fortune.
Both have been well spent.
I am growing old.
The only thing that's worse is
The alternative.
