It's not anger that I'm feeling when I'm barking at the moon,
But a deeper sense of loss than you imagine.
It's not anger you are seeing when my body starts to shake,
But a painful mix of terror, shame, and sorrow.
It's not anger you are hearing when I'm howling like the wind,
But the remnants of another state of mourning.
I would never show my anger to the ones I truly love,
Not unless I can provide a safe container.
If you think I'm feeling anger when my whole world falls apart,
Then you do not know the range of my emotions.
If it's anger you perceive, and not the longing of my soul,
It's because I lack the language to express it.
