New Bunk Beds

New bunk beds!
The kids are excited.
Load the pieces in the van,
Take them home, set them up,
Put on mattresses and sheets
And before you're even done
You will find the children bouncing on the new bunk beds.

New bunk beds!
The boys are ecstatic.
They can't wait to show their friends
Who come over after school,
Disappear into the bedroom,
Build a tent, make a fort,
Use up all of your blankets
Being clever and creative in their new bunk beds.

New bunk beds!
The parents, with decorum,
Are full of admonitions
To the kids on the proper way
To care for new possessions
'Til the lunches are packed
And the kids on the school bus.
Then guess who you'll find bouncing on the new bunk beds?
