experimenting with forbidden atavistic desire.

suddenly understanding all the sappy romantic literature ever written.
Two intellectuals out for a joy-love,
acting like defiant adolescents heady with the experience.
Two intellectuals out for a joy-love,
still adult enough to fulfill their responsibilities.
Two intellectuals out for a joy-love,
unswayed by the buffeting warning of friends.
Two intellectuals out for a joy-love,
afraid that their fantasy may fade into reality.
Two intellectuals out for a joy-love,
blithely ignoring the radar detector's incessant howl.
Two intellectuals out for a joy-love,
yet analytical enough to understand the consequences.
Two intellectuals out for a joy-love,
knowing that a lifetime isn't long enough for this ride.
