Jasmine
The jasmine blooms only at night.
Warmed by the fusion fires of distant suns
She opens her petals to a waiting world
Releasing a sweetness designed to arouse
The passions of a million males,
And I am powerless under her spell.
Though we are an ocean apart
Her sweet scent reaches me, half a world away,
Beckons me nearer; I cannot resist.
For I am but a man, who longs to caress,
Hold close to his breast, and some day possess
The jasmine who blooms just at night.
