Attraction

The law of gravitation
Gives a definite advantage
To he who lives quite near you,
Only kilometers distant,
While I reside across
An inconvenient ocean.

Though our masses be equivalent,
The reality of r-squared
Means your strong attraction to him
Exceeds by a millionfold
The force that I had hoped
Might bind you close to me.

And should I cross that ocean,
Overcome the spatial barrier
That keeps me from your side,
And equalize the forces,
That only will result
In complicating matters:
The dread Three Body Problem,
The solution of which
Tends to be intractable.

All of this would be quite amusing,
Were it not for the situation's gravity.
